Drifting apart

Hello beautiful people,
yesterday was my last day of school for six weeks, which means that there is only one year of school left for me. This got me thinking.

When this last year is over, who will still be here with me?
Who will I still be able to call a friend?

Drifting apart from your friends does not only happen after your last year in school or after you move away. You can never be sure that it doesn't happen too you right now. I've experienced this situation myself as I think most of you have, but just let me tell you: Let it happen. Don't try too hard to hold this friendship. If you don't have the same interests anymore and you can't hold a real conversation, that both of you enjoy then it doesn't really have a sense to try and keep this friendship.

There is nothing wrong with letting go. Even though it might hurt it is the best for both of you. You will always meet new people and you will find new friends that share your interests and opinions. Also it could always be that the two of you find your way back to each other.

Drifting apart after graduating is a little different. You already know that you will probably loose some of the friends you have now. I know that I won't be able to keep all my friends. On the one hand it makes me sad but on the other hand it makes me stronger. If you are in the same situation then don't be sad that you are for sure going to loose some friends. You should try to make the most of it. Don't you want to tell your children that you had the most amazing time in school with your friends. Don't try to close up and be a loner because you think that if you don't have friends it won't hurt loosing them. Personally I think it will hurt more to be alone than to drift apart from your friends.

I don't know who I will be friends with all my live and whom I will only be in contact with for a few years. But this is what makes friendship exciting. You don't know how or when it will end. You have the chance to find someone that will always be by your side and that will support you your whole life.

Friendship is a gift and we should see it as one of the best things the world gave to us. Use your time. Spend it with your friends and don't be alone. It doesn't matter that you will maybe loose them one day. What is important is the time you spend together, so make the most of it.

I really hope you understand what I said and that you share my opinion. Don't be sad and just use the time that is left for you to have a great time with your friends. Because that is what you'll remember when your older.

Now that I got this off of my chest I wish all of you a great weekend.
I will talk to you soon,

Norina xx

    1. I'm very happy for you that you found some true friends. It can be hard to keep a friendship if you move away after graduating, but you're right: It wil all work out :)
